The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced the inclusion of two more laboratories into the country’s COVID-19 pandemic molecular network.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control has announced the inclusion of two more laboratories into the country’s COVID-19 pandemic molecular network.

NAN reports that on March 27, the NCDC announced via its Twitter handle that this is part of the laboratory strategy developed. Ihekweazu said that all these were aimed at scaling up testing across the country for mobility, speed and access in order to win the fight against COVID-19 pandemic.”However, a critical challenge remains sample collection and transportation to the relevant laboratories, which is still a work in progress,” he said.

The director-general said the measure was taken to ensure that the country maintained its testing capacity.
