The House of Representatives has summoned the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 to appear and brief it on May 5 on the federal government’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic and its template for the intervention in all the states of the federation.

Moving the motion earlier, Doguwa recalled that index COVID-19 case was reported on February 27, 2020, in Nigeria and that the country had so far recorded 1,337 confirmed cases of the virus, 40 deaths and 255 recoveries.Doguwa said the Federal Government had released N5 billion to NCDC to scale up capacity and strategise a rapid response to the pandemic.

The lawmaker said the centre had been shut down for about a week now, reportedly due to lack of some testing materials and reagents. He said Nigeria has only 15 testing centres one each in Kano, Sokoto, Borno, Kaduna, Plateau, Oyo, Osun, Edo, and Ebonyi State, two in the FCT and three in Lagos state. The House urged the Federal Government to as a matter of urgency and priority scale up the nation’s COVID-19 testing capacity.

Why the summon?or you are looking for fame when you're meant to be in the laboratory profiting solution to the pandemic... I pity the 199 million, for am not among you evil animal in the Zoo

Reps and their meaningless summons. They should summon the governor and his commissioner of health. Allow NCDC focus on their job.

Reps av come ... Do those guys have time now to come to the lower chamber over Kano death. Their Governor and health commissioner should be called upon..

Don't bother to summon NCDC and health minister they don't know the difference between fever and covid 19 patient

To present their findings from the verbal autopsy?😂🤣🤣🤣🤣

This distraction is not needed right now. Let those people focus on their jobs.

Is this not distraction at this time. They should be on the field working.

What does NCDCgov have to even say about a state where they were reportedly drinking water after washing their hands saying coronavirus is a charade

Yes

They are still summoning

To wake the dead?

I don't think it's the right time for all this summoning, this guys are busy and you wants to distract them, the reps should do something better with their time and justify their payment from taxpayers.

Follow itz_sagacious and I'll follow back

Happy resumption.

Please we don't this kind of show for now..

What for when its clear they are d problems of Nigeria

Needless! pointless! For what exactly? They should summon their governor...

Check my profile and u'll see my followers and followings are exact same numbers. Which means I STRICTLY follow only people that follow me. Wanna build up that way and probably be the first person to do it.💪 Let's do this together guys.💪 Follow me n I follow back ASAP

Charde

Those two medical professionals should not be distracted, please HouseNGR

Summoning the gods... 😂 😂

Look at these fools. Instead of throwing in their supports, they want to stall the process. As if they'll even understand anything NCDC is going to tell them

nassnigeria plse stop harassing this NCDCgov guys. Let them work, you guys are just resuming from recess. Let the commissioner for health in Kano, come and explain what is going on. GovUmarGanduje should take proper charge of his state.

Oga don't disturb that man abeg. What a waste of meeting. What happened to Kano state lawmakers summoning the NCDC representative in their state?

Interesting, there is need to know what is actually happening

After that what will now happen?

For each kit in Nigeria $600 while the type used in Senegal is $6 but with test result obtained within 10 minutes against the Nigerian 24 to 48 hrs. Let's be honest to ourselves for once in this country. Stop the stealing
