Victoria's tally of COVID-19 infections has continued to dwindle but the state's Chief Health Officer has warned that a second wave of cases could happen at any time if social distancing measures are not followed

Victoria's tally of COVID-19 infections has continued to dwindle but the state's Chief Health Officer has warned that a second wave of cases could happen at any time if social distancing measures are not followed.

While the curve of coronavirus cases has flattened further in Victoria, the state's death toll rose to 16 this week after a man in his 60s died in hospital. He is one of the youngest people in Victoria to die from coronavirus.with the number of those cases stable at 135.Asked if Victoria's tally might continue to trickle down to zero new cases, Professor Sutton said that could occur "any day now".

"We are working on the presumption there will be no second wave," Professor Brett Sutton said on Friday.

FFS Victoria is stuffed with their government and advisors, let’s just leave them to get on with their madness

the great dictator

Except in a classroom 🙄

You are full of it

Hmm like in Sweden ?

Restrictions saved thousands of lives when clearly the rest of the world fucked up but people still need to be entitled and whinge? Rather be gasping for air without access to a ventilator? Does it need to happen to someone you love before it’s real? stayhomesavelives

Will make return of AFL fairly difficult then. Unlike NRL who doesn't care one way or the other

Need to start re opening some places, so people have somewhere to go where strict social distance regulations are enforced. So we can start moving forward with life without just throwing away the lessons out of boredom.

I honestly don't understand Andrews scare tactics. Most Victorians were isolating prior to any measures he put in. Most cases were from overseas, and that's still the case when we're down to single digits. To act like theres going to be uncontrollable outbreaks defies logic..

Massive dribbler of shit this yahoo

Is this based on his initial 36000 deaths?

Why the hell to we have a state medical officer . One federal medical officer is enough . He will change his tune once his pay was no longer possible .

' These numbers are so good Dan that pretty soon we won't be able to continue scaring them with our implausible modelling that's proven wrong every time' 'Hang in there Brett old son, media is on side as our numbers are looking great'.' Phew, I'd miss all this attention, Boss'

This Victorian Government tried the scare tactic from day 1 and were wrong enough is enough. Flu exists many other things exist 99.4% don’t have an issue they have gone too far and ruined our future

Cut the bullshit - we’re over the exaggeration & hype !

All this second wave crap, we never even got a ripple in the first place

Except in schools if we follow the PM’s inexplicable instructions that social distancing isn’t needed in classrooms. What is that?

Everyone is thinking about Spanish flu.

Don’t mind this bloke ....

Can I go fishing now?
