CMO Brendan Murphy says Australians should not expect international travel to resume for at least three to four months. Follow our live coverage:

The global death toll from coronavirus has passed 183,000. There are more than 2.6 million known cases of infection but more than 709,000 people have recovered, according to the Johns Hopkins University tally

Treasurer Josh Frydenberg said the dedicated hotline was agreed to alongside a commitment to put those loan applications at the front of the processing queue. "We expect to see more of that in the weeks ahead, but let's not get complacent while our numbers are good."

Ban America and The UK until there is zero case there. COVID19 Covid_19australia covid19australia

I will be very surprised if COVID -19 is just a memory in 3 to 4 months time . . . No actual reason we have seen as yet why it will be fading away of its own accord.

How can travel resume without a vaccine? And where does our CMO propose we travel to?

you have to be kidding me. 3-4 months when other countries like US have mass numbers. Couldn't even take temps at airport before, are we still going to quarantine when come back? INSANE

Im thinking June 1 worse case July 1

Then there's no point further lowering interest rate and devaluing AUD

3 to 4 months! That’s crazy. As if it would be safe then.

I'd rather it not resume for 18-24 months!
