PETALING JAYA: Eight medical professionals from China have arrived in Kuala Lumpur and will be staying tentatively for two weeks to share their expertise in battling the Covid-19 pandemic.

China's ambassador to Malaysia, Bai Tian said the expert team was organised by the National Health Commission of China and made up of eight individuals selected by the Guangdong Province health commission.

The medical professionals were welcomed by Bai Tian as well as representatives from the Health Ministry when they arrived at the KL International Airport at noon Saturday. Bai Tian noted that the team's arrival symbolised the great friendship between Malaysia and China, adding that the government and various entities in Malaysia have provided support to China in combating the pandemic since its outbreak.
