How is this not horrible advice? My post office has a worker who's positive for Covid19 but asymptomatic, accidentally wipes mouth after taking a drink of water then grabs my mail and puts it in the PO box. 30 mins later I arrive and grab my mail. Unthinkingly I wipe my eye....

Don't listen to them! So far they've had to back peddle on literally everything they originally suggested. Use mask and gloves. Open boxes outside, throw out immediately. Wipe down everything you bring in. Wash hands. Sanitize. Be extra careful! Mail is not immune.

Just don't touch your face after touching mail and then wash your hands. I treat all objects outside of my house as suspect. Might be overly cautious, but doesn't hurt in these trying times.
