THE National Grid Corp. of the Philippines started distributing P500 million worth of grocery items to communities as part of its hefty financial pledge to the government amid the coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic. “We are very pleased to turnover these relief packs as we hope these will help sustain our partner communities given the extension of the enhanced community quarantine.

In a letter to President Rodrigo Duterte dated Mar. 30, 2020, coursed through Sen. Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go, the NGCP stated its intention to give P1 billion in goods and medical equipment for Covid-19 response measures. The company was instructed to donate medical equipment, video laryngoscopes, ventilators and total face masks through their initial coordination with the government. On top of its donation, the NGCP’s technical partner, State Grid Corp.
