Finance Minister Mathias Cormann says the government has not "accepted the approach of letting the virus spread to create so called herd immunity” because such a method will come with “an unacceptable level of loss of life”. Australia’s restrictions and regulations on social distancing and gatherings have been in place for the past month and they have contributed to the country’s daily infection rate dropping from around 25 per cent to close to one per cent.
The Finance Minister said even though the rate of infections is slowing, the arrangements made by the government were “all geared around the expectation that this will last for at least six months”. “Of course we would like to see restrictions eased if the advice from the health experts is that that can safely be done”.
Really!!!
People in power need to make tough decisions. Let’s hope they made the right one. I don’t believe they have but only time will tell whether they are cowards or visionaries
They should test it on those that are for it then and keep them on a remote island for a couple of years to see if it works.
Forget about the unacceptable loss of freedom, human rights and lives lost to other diseases, domestic violence and suicide, Mathias needs a 12% payrise whilst the citizens are on house arrest!
Open the country up and get on with it, its not going to help your Budget by keeping it CLOSED and 5G towers Are not Going to boost the Economy other then cause more health issues
Only 2 certainties .. death & taxes
Like it or not, it is the only way to future...
