Daniel Andrews has unveiled a $60 million mental health package to help Victorians who are struggling with the emotional and economic toll of the novel coronavirus COVID-19. The Victorian Premier said the first phase of the package includes $6.7 million allocated towards expanding online and phone counselling services.

"We know that a quarter of calls to Lifeline over these last few weeks have been related to the coronavirus," Mr Andrews told reporters on Sunday. "Many people are coming forward to get mental healthcare and support who have never done so in the past, so there is significant pressure on all of our mental health service system.

DanielAndrewsMP Jesus we need to harden up.

DanielAndrewsMP How much for a fishing rod?

DanielAndrewsMP Awesome. What's that? $10 each? Buys enough time to exchange pleasantries, almost.

DanielAndrewsMP Of course... you take Hope & freedom away & that’s what you get! Well done Dictator Dan!

DanielAndrewsMP Oh yeah that’s going to help. We are now communist China if we go out or don’t listen to the government we are fined or jailed. What have we come to, also have to listen to a union man.

DanielAndrewsMP Where’s this bloke getting all this money from...seriously....just have himself a pay rise.

DanielAndrewsMP Why no mention of the man who committed suicide due to being quarantined in a hotel? “A man has been found dead in his hotel room during forced coronavirus quarantine. The recently returned traveller's body was discovered on Saturday inside a hotel room in Melbourne's CBD.“

DanielAndrewsMP Instead of just regurgitating Dan Andrews press releases you may want to investigate the homelessness that's being unleashed in Victoria, particularly in regional areas.

Coronavirus ‘unlikely’ to be as deadly as World Health organisation forecast | Sky News AustraliaHealth authorities in the US and around the world are “flying in the dark” when it comes to making wise public policy decisions in response to COVID-19, according to Stanford University’s Professor Jay Bhattacharya. \n\nResearchers are scrambling to understand the how widespread and how deadly the novel pathogen is, despite the disease being declared a pandemic months ago.\n\nProfessor Jay Bhattacharya wrote an article last month questioning whether health authorities are over-estimating COVID-19’s mortality rate.\n\nHe told Sky News governments will be able to make better policy decisions if they knew how truly dangerous the disease is.\n\n“What I anticipate is that the disease is probably more widespread than we think, that is many-many people have had it with very limited symptoms,” he said.\n\n“Well that means the death toll of the virus is by orders of magnitude lower than we think, nowhere near the three per cent WHO originally said.\n\n“Much lower, maybe more in line with the deathrate from the flu.”\n\nHe said once researchers gain a greater insight into the infection rate, it could allow governments to gradually ease restrictions while protecting communities that are at an elevated risk from COVID-19.\n\nImage: AP The data showing this is no worse than any other bad flu season has been there from the beginning. The doomsday MODELS have proven totally wrong day after day. Time for the country to get back to work. Anything that says WHO This is so unfortunate and unacceptable

US economy 'will resume' after public health system is fixed | Sky News AustraliaRMIT Professor Joe Siracusa says while the United States is experiencing a “terrible situation” amid the COVI-19 pandemic, “it is not as bad as the Great Depression in terms of the economy is not broken, what is broken is the public health system”.\n\nNearly 17 million Americans have applied for unemployment benefits since the outbreak of the coronavirus with one in 10 workers having lost their jobs and trillions of dollars in cash and loans released by the Federal Reserve to try and counter the crisis. \n\nMr Siracusa told Sky News “the economy is frozen because of the health crisis”.\n\n“Once we get past the public health crisis the economy will resume”.\n\nHe said the volatility seen on Wall Street over the past weeks “means all the smart money is staying in near the markets because they know the fundamentals of the American economy, like the economy of Australia is in good shape”.\n\n“Once the public health crisis has blown through town, and it will blow through, it will take tens of thousands of lives and all the rest of it, but all the essentials are in place, so I wouldn’t get too panicky about what is going to happen to the economy,” he said. \n\nImage: AP\n Trump won't fix that because the stock market is far more important to him!!!!! So the US economy won’t resume for a few years, huh? Their health system is a joke. God save America from Trump. People is dying everyday. They are human beings. Bloody trump doesn’t care.
