The Department of Transportation (DOTr) assured the public that their program providing free rides for health workers will continue and has even been expanded to other regions.

“With the engagement and cooperation of Land Transportation Office and Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board , FREE RIDE for medical frontliners is implemented not only in the National Capital Region , but also to other nationwide region, including regions 1, 2, 3, 4 A, 4 B, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 , 11, 12, CAR, and CARAGA,” the DOTR wrote in a Facebook post on Saturday.

The DOTR said they expanded the program to other regions of the Philippines despite the fact that it was started only on March 18. From an initial three routes in NCR, the program now offers 19, not including the routes in the provincial areas. Aside from Google, companies like Phoenix, Total, CleanFuel, Petron, and Seaoil, have also pitched in by providing fuel subsidy for the vehicles being used in the program.
