Minister for Health Simon Harris urged people to stay the course in relation to the current restrictions

The Minister for Health has said he hoped that the backlog in testing would be cleared by the end of next week.

He said the virus was not where Ireland needed it to be and he urged people to stay the course in relation to the current restrictions. Minister Harris said that Ireland currently had more capacity to test for Covid-19 than demand, based on the current case definition. He said people were stressed, anxious and hurting about facing another three-and-a-half weeks of restrictions, but it would not take much to go backwards in relation to this virus and he urged people to stay the course.

Of the confirmed cases, 23% were hospitalised, while 244 or 4% were admitted to intensive care units.Up until midnight on Wednesday, 263 deaths had been recorded here, which represents a fatality rate of 4%.A cluster of Covid-19 relates to at least two cases of the virus.

People have to understand this virus will be here for a long time. We need to social distance, self isolate if sick etc etc! This is until vaccine, drugs can treat it!

😂😂😂 SimonHarrisTD terminological inexactitude

How has this lethal pandemic affected the overall death rate?

We will get there! 🤣

Orlaodo Sure take your time no rush 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

Orlaodo ... he hopes

Orlaodo That’s not what was said yesterday.

Orlaodo it wont, why can't we test in ireland?

Orlaodo He 'hopes'. What kind of a meaningless statement is that?

Orlaodo How big is the backlog? The truth now!

Orlaodo HSE said start of next wk yesterday.

Does that mean they r testing the Cancelled patients Now

Is he the minister who stopped new born baby’s getting vaccinated for TB.? Which seems to help dramatically with this current problem

Can we say it as it is-we ran out of lysis buffer and had to export tests.Figures of confirmed cases were an estimate.More importantly, what’s the strategy? Are we buying time to vaccines, as what’s the point testing/tracing/isolating if the turnaround of tests is 48hours alone?
