'climbed' is a bit disingenuous don't you think? Linear counting of cases can do nothing but climb. You should be talking about active cases, not culminative.
Could be worse, should have been better. The Spanish flu of 1918 killed MILLIONS. But the world recovered, as we will. This is not new, but the lack of preparedness was. Don't lose hope, nor a sense of humour & we'll get through this. We need to learn the lessons of history!
