SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga – The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) has given assistance to 12,615 private sector workers, who were displaced by the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) that was implemented in Luzon due to the threats posed by the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

Many private establishments in the region had to temporarily close due to the ECQ, affecting mostly the minimum daily wage earners, and the no-work, no-pay workers.Adjustment Measures Program .

DOLE Regional Director Ma. Zenaida Angara-Campita has been encouraging owners of private businesses to cooperate with the department’s efforts on giving assistance to their employees.P5,000 transferred directly to the employee’s payroll account or through money remittance centers”. Campita said.“These employees are from 664 establishments. MLhuillier sent each of the beneficiaries a message notifying them of the P5,000-financial support under DOLE’s CAMP.

In Zambales, applications from 84 establishments covering 1,304 workers were approved; while 60 establishments with 1,059 workers were approved in Bataan. In Nueva Ecija, 57 establishments corresponding to 596 workers were approved, and 34 establishments covering 396 workers were approved in Aurora.
