Australians will now have access to a new messaging service which will provide individuals with updates on the measures put in place by governments to curb the spread of COVID-19.

From today, individuals will be able to sign up to a new WhatsApp feature designed to provide updates on health advice and timely information on coronavirus. Prime Minister Scott Morrison also announced a new government app, the Coronavirus App, to provide easy access to resources for Australians. Mr Morrison on Sunday urged the public to get involved and sign up for the initiatives.

“You will get access to a new messaging service which enables us to talk to more and more messaging services which enables us to talk to Australians in terms of basic health advice, updates on the measures that are being put in place by state and federal governments, and that will assist you to get to be accurate and timely information about what is being done by governments around the country to support you,” he said.
