COVID-19 TESTING EXPANDED: Health care workers among those who may need testing | Sky News AustraliaThe coronavirus testing criteria has been expanded drastically to include all healthcare and aged care workers with a fever and “acute respiratory conditions”. \n\nThe national cabinet on the advice of the Australian Health Principle Protection Committee has agreed to expand the required criteria to be tested for COVID-19 in order to help individual who are more likely to come into contact with the disease. \n\nAlong with people in health and aged care, increased testing will include those who experience fever and acute respiratory conditions in geographically localized areas where there is an “elevated risk of community transmission”.\n\nPeople in rural and remote indigenous communities, detention centres, correctional facilities, boarding schools, and military bases with two or more confirmed cases of the virus will be required to be tested.\n\n“Testing will also be expanded to include hospitalized patients with fever and acute respiratory symptoms for unknown causes at the discretion of the treating clinicians”.\n\nImage: AP\n Really!
