A “fraudulent” text message purporting to be from Qld Health called for Prime Minister Scott Morrison to ban horse racing to stop the spread of COVID-19. Anti-horse racing activists sent the message from an account named “QLDHealth” with a link to a change.org petition calling for horse racing to be banned. “Sign this petition to put horse racing on HOLD and stop the spread of COVID-19,” the fake health text said. The message then linked to a Change.
