Eduction Minister DanTehanWannon has warned 'preemptively' closing schools could create a drain on health care workers who would be pulled out of the work force to care for their children.

Eduction Minister Dan Tehan has warned "preemptively" closing schools could create a drain on health care workers who would be pulled out of the work force to care for their children.

"If you preemptively move to close schools you could impact your medical workforce in particular by 30 per cent," he said. "We need out workforce in place dealing with the spread of the virus ." Mr Tehan said schools would not be ordered to close at this stage.

DanTehanWannon So Teachers are actually just child-care workers. As such if they get sick and die, they are worth less than if they were trained professionals. Anyway, the government values teachers' lives less than the value to the economy of the parents. Simple. Voting teachers, take note.

DanTehanWannon Other countries have closed thousands of schools .. why are we different ? They face the same challengers. What aren’t we doing or could do differently?

DanTehanWannon Keep going the way we are and these children won’t have parents at all!

DanTehanWannon They closetheschools auspol scomo about not closing them for fear health workers will be compromised!!! SO WHY ISN'T THIS A CONCERN FOR ALL THE OTHER COUNTRIES IN THE WORLD AS THEY INSTITUTE LOCKDOWNS?

DanTehanWannon SO WHY ISN'T THIS A CONCERN FOR ALL THE OTHER COUNTRIES IN THE WORLD AS THEY INSTITUTE LOCKDOWNS?

DanTehanWannon Also other workers and put some older people at risk if they have to mind children. Great decision for now.

DanTehanWannon Keep schools open for kids who can’t stay home. But for those who can, stay home. Issue the directive. Sick of feeling guilty if I want to protect my own children.

DanTehanWannon But healthworkers catching the virus from their children is 'OK'? Are you under the misconception that the virus is only transmissable during office hours? Or are these healthcare worker children raising themselves (outside school hours) whilst their parents work 24/7?

DanTehanWannon To threaten schools with removing funding if they close is the most disgraceful move I’ve seen

DanTehanWannon Why is it they think closing schools are bad ? What happens when the kids bring the covid back to their health worker parents Theres gonna be alot of sick healthcare workers not turning up to work.. but its ok the government said it wont happen...

DanTehanWannon 'Forced' to care for their own children.

DanTehanWannon Surely “preemptively” would be prudent if we have learned the lessons from China, Korea, Italy, Spain, UK etc etc before us? How about a drain on health care workers because they’ve been made sick as a result of their children bringing home coronavirus from school?

DanTehanWannon So he is knowingly putting children, teachers and school staff at higher risk so that health care workers can also continue to work in a high risk environment. That's a double slap in the face for health workers right there, isn't it?

DanTehanWannon Thats a ridiculous reason not to close school's, health worker's would have child care arrangements theyve dealt with school holiday's an the like for ages!

DanTehanWannon Fool

DanTehanWannon Such nonsense.... it's about Money over Health and one more thing, social distancing is ok for ministers, PM and the general public but not our children. CloseTheSchoolsNow ShutTheSchools

DanTehanWannon LNPMurderers auspol ScottyFromMarketing Italy had 650 cases on Feb 27. Today they hit 35713 & hospitals are over run. Doctors on the front lines are pleading with our leaders to shut everything down. Why won't they listen? CoronaVirusAU COVID19

DanTehanWannon Introduce reduced schooling you moron. Provide free schooling & childcare for all healthcare workers, police officers etc... All families that can afford or who are in a position to keep their kids home should do so.

DanTehanWannon What about fact that children of healthcare workers are probably one of the most high risk groups to be infected and spread the disease at schools? Anyway, Govt. needs to think creatively about creating safe spaces for kids to be during school hours where lunch could be provided.

DanTehanWannon So Dan if the kindey teachers got infected which is more likely than others then we go?

DanTehanWannon Assume it’s school holidays. I’m sure healthcare workers make arrangements during the school holidays 🤷🏻‍♀️

DanTehanWannon But we are Risking Teachers Lives!

DanTehanWannon We are not stupid DanTehanWannon Close our schools You must stand up and protect our children and teachers. I am sickened by the complete disregard for our NSW teachers and early childhood educators. CloseTheSchools

DanTehanWannon What about the well-being of the staff in our schools? Shows our education minister does not care about teachers.

DanTehanWannon This is one of the typical Dumb statements coming from the government. What do these health care workers do on weekends and school holidays? All the advanced countries are closing schools. They care about children's health. auspol

DanTehanWannon Dosnt happen over school holidays dan.

geny2435363634 DanTehanWannon So what do these workers do during the 10+ weeks a year of school holidays? The man is full of shit. Close the schools now!

DanTehanWannon Preemptively closing schools could leave more people working longer by reducing the spread

DanTehanWannon Complicated problem. How many health care workers will be effected? Probably not as many as leaving the children in school will infect?

DanTehanWannon Then allow healthcare worker's kids to go to school if necessary, it isn't hard, why is the education minister a moron?

DanTehanWannon You are the education Minister, health workers are not your business.

DanTehanWannon and not to mention all the vulnerable elderly grandparents who would have to become childcare workers. Have the lunatic lefties stopped to wonder if there might not be method in what they consider the government's madness?

DanTehanWannon Allow other parents to keep kids home. It is good for everyone. Do this Monster's children go to school?
