Republicans released the text of their trillion-dollar coronavirus stimulus package, paving the way for negotiations with Democrats to begin

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell introduced the text of the Republicans’ trillion-dollar proposal for the so-called “Phase 3” coronavirus stimulus package, paving the way for negotiations with Democrats to formally begin. The GOP proposal outlines provisions to give small businesses federally guaranteed loans, provide direct cash payments to Americans and lend to hard-hit industries such as airlines.

Sen. Lindsey Graham has been the most vocal opponent of the cash payments plan pushed by President Donald Trump, Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin and other senior administration officials. Graham told Senate Republicans on Thursday that he had called Trump to lobby against the plan, adding that Rep. Mark Meadows — soon to take over as White House chief of staff — agreed with him.

"I personally think if we're going help people we ought to direct the cash payments maybe as a supplement to unemployment, not to the people that are still working everyday," said Senate Appropriations Committee Chairman Richard Shelby . "Just a blanket cash check to everyone in America who is making $75,000... I don't know the logic of that. I could see tying it to unemployment, maybe boosting it for people who are going be laid off for a while.

"We're all going to have to vote for something that in another environment we wouldn't support," said Sen. John Kennedy .

SenKamalaHarris SenSchumer ewarren SenGillibrand SenWhitehouse PLEASE DON'T LET THEM GET AWAY WITH THIS!!!

Republicans support 'Privatizing their gains and socializing their losses. Don't let this Congress get away with another bailout that protects Corporations and not protect the workers.

This is ridiculously complicated. Ridiculously exclusive.

Why aren't they talking about the insider trading. That REPUBLICAN Richard Burr was involved in.

Trillion dollars? This has to stop!!!! STOP throwing money at this!! We've been out of work 4 days!!! Take a breath!

People. No big corps- unless they can’t pay during furlough. But those airlines made record profits- so.....

I don't trust the GOP. This 'package' smells like decayed conservative ideology. DNC be careful.

American lives matter. I don't trust this fascist party to look out for americans one bit. I hope Speaker Pelosi plays this one real smart.

What’s in the bill? $999,999,999.25 for their nuds and a pack of Twizzlers for the rest of us? We want our rights and we don’t care how. We. Want. A. Revolution. Now.

'Look everyone, I can count to six'

Corporations already got their hand out last year! They shouldn’t get more. It should all be for small business, health care, and directly to American families!

Maybe Mitch McConnell shouldn't have spent the weekend yucking it up with Brett Kavanaugh while US infection grew at a higher rate than most other countries. I wonder how much of his stock holdings he sold before the rest of the country was warned.

Abortion?

Since their just printing money to get this stimulus package through, wouldn’t it simply be easier to just do federal income tax hiatus for six months until this crisis wanes and/or passed?

Wouldn’t now be an excellent time to just erase student debt?!?

He should be in Prison for Treason

Dems: “It’s time to ban coronavirus” 🤦🏻

But at least it's not evil socialism

So good ol' Mitch is finally back from his mini vacation while people are dying in the US? So lovely to see that.

We don’t got time for that shit.
