Mayor Edwin Olivarez said that starting Thursday , the city frontliners whom he identified as medical personnel, drug store personnel, health workers, supermarket employees, bank personnel, BPO personnel, restaurant personnel, and city government employees will be provided free transportation to their workplace.
Olivarez also said social distancing will be strictly imposed inside the vehicles to be provided by the city government. He also appealed to city residents to just stay home if they have no business to attend to outside their homes. The mayor also ordered City Treasurer Anthony Pulmano to release P20 million for the purchase of food packages to be distributed to city residents and displaced workers.
Pulmano said in an interview that the city government is preparing food packages for city residents, each containing five kilos of rice, sardines, noodles, and other basic needs to be delivered to their homes. When asked about other local government units giving cash incentives to displaced workers, Pulamo said their Task Force COVID-19 will still have to set guidelines for a similar move.
Any details on the transpo provision?
