BREAKING: The Philippines now has 15 new cases of the coronavirus disease, bringing the total number to 202, the Department of Health said Wednesday.

Three more patients have also recovered. No other details are available as of posting time.

Department of Health spokesperson Maria Vergeire said in a briefing earlier today that most of those who recovered and were discharged from the hospitals exhibited mild symptoms and did not have underlying medical conditions. The number of people across the world who have been sickened by the viral illness has reached 198,006, including 7,948 deaths, mostly in China, according to the Johns Hopkins University's COVID-19 global tracker.
