Prime Minister Scott Morrison has unveiled a number of unprecedented changes for the nation in a strict new approach to curbing the spread of the coronavirus.
The prime minister announced on Wednesday there would be a clampdown on large groups which now includes a ban on all non-essential indoor gatherings with more than 100 people, with the exception of a number of sectors including transport services, health facilities and office centres. Mr Morrison stressed the nation was not facing an imminent lockdown but said Australians should be prepared for these changes to be in place for “at least” six months.
