Health Minister Greg Hunt says all travel from Europe to Australia is under review just hours after the US announced a ban on travellers from the region for 30 days.
Speaking in Melbourne, the minister said the decision had been transferred from the government’s National Security Committee to the Australian Health Protection Principal Committee. Mr Hunt said the existing travel bans on China, Iran, South Korea and Italy remain in place. “The prime minister has also referred the question of all travel from Europe from the National Security Committee to the medical experts,” Mr Hunt said. “We will continue to follow the medical advice.
