Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the 60-year-old man or referred to as Case-131 participated in the “ijtimak tabligh” gathering for three days from Feb 28 to March 1.

“A Covid-19 detection test was performed, which confirmed that the patient is positive of the virus on March 10. The ministry advises all attendees of the four-day tabligh gathering - from Feb 27 to March 1 to immediately get tested if they show symptoms for Covid-19, he said. In a statement yesterday , he said the ministry is conducting Covid-19 surveillance to detect sporadic and local cases in Malaysia through patients with influenza-like-illness and SARI with no history of travelling to affected countries or contacts with confirmed Covid-19 cases.
