The cities of Pasig and Quezon on Monday reported their first cases of the Coronavirus disease (Covid-19).

Mayor Josefina Belmonte said that a resident of the first district tested positive for coronavirus disease .

Meanwhile, Pasig City Mayor Victor “Vico” Sotto confirmed two cases of the 2019 coronavirus disease in the city. In a Facebook post on Monday, Sotto said the two cases involved a Pasig City resident and a non-resident who is confined at a Pasig hospital. “As announced by the Department of Health, there is a Covid-19 patient currently confined in Medical City Pasig,” Sotto wrote. “There is also a Covid-19 patient who is a Pasig resident, but is currently confined in a private hospital outside of Pasig.”

“We are also implementing precautionary measures based on DOH and WHO guidelines,” Sotto said. “This includes but is not limited to: Contact tracing , dedicated response teams observing proper protocol, disinfection of public spaces, cancelation of all public events and gatherings, [and] applications for permits for large private events on hold.”
