The NSW Education department has conceded more schools could be temporarily closed as the novel coronavirus continues its spread across the state.

Two Sydney High Schools - St Patrick's college and Willoughby Girls High School - will remain closed after three students at those schools were diagnosed with the disease.

Two year 10 students - a boy and a girl - at St Patrick's college, Dundas in Sydney's north west - are confirmed to have contracted the virus.
