Prime Minister ScottMorrisonMP has announced the government is preparing $500 million for its coronavirus response, a figure the states and territories are expected to match to meet the estimated $1 billion cost.

Prime Minister Scott Morrison has announced the government is preparing $500 million for its coronavirus response, a figure the states and territories are expected to match to meet the estimated $1 billion cost. “There would be 50,50 cost sharing between the commonwealth and the states for those additional costs for public health in response to responding to the outbreak,” Mr Morrison said.

Currently there are 61 coronavirus cases confirmed in the country. New South Wales has recorded another cases of the virus, which takes the total number to 26. Queensland has two new cases with 13 patients now isolated in separate hospitals. The first Australian baby has been diagnosed with the disease with the boy becoming South Australia's seventh case, after his mother returned from Iran on Sunday. Perth has recorded its third case after a woman flew in from the UK, via Dubai.

ScottMorrisonMP this is a cry for help from the moron holding the position of PM who dose not have a clue. next he will start blaming the states for letting people who have the virus into the country because the state was there entry point

ScottMorrisonMP Put the actual $ in a trust fund, up front. Otherwise likely a chimera

ScottMorrisonMP This is the equivalent of throwing pennies in the dirt, and expecting the scientists to make shit smell like strawberries. It's good to know that Scott Morrison has absolutely no respect for the people and he's cool with the entire nation suffering from a pandemic.

‘Morrison’s response will very much define him as prime minister’: Paul Kelly | Sky News AustraliaThe Australian’s Editor-at-Large Paul Kelly says Prime Minister Scott Morrison’s response to the burgeoning economic and health crises caused by coronavirus will be “a test of his overall leadership capability”.\n\nAs the government readies itself to announce a “targeted” economic stimulus package to mitigate the damage of the Coronavirus, the prime minister has “made it very clear that this won’t be a repeat of the Rudd experience,” said Mr Kelly.\n\nMr Kelly said the Mr Morrison’s response “will very much define him as prime minister” and will be a test of his “political judgment and his economic assessments”.\n\nHe told Sky News host Peta Credlin both the government and opposition have two very distinct narratives they are trying to spin with the government focusing on the “global crisis” and the prime minister “being a strong leader responding to (it)”.\n\nConversely the Labor Party’s narrative revolves around the sports rorts saga and “the argument is the prime minister can’t be trusted, that he’s a liar, that he’s secretive, and that he’s deceptive”.\n\nImage: News Corp Australia ScottMorrisonMP so far looking good . His drought response was amazing despite anti hyperbole. ScottMorrisonMP This is what happens when you put the 'L' platers at the wheel of the economy; it stalls over and over again until it comes to a spluttering stop. Then a global economic event happens and we are in a recession with no growth buffer. ScottMorrisonMP Maybe the first thing he should do is drop the marketing spin. Australia needs real leadership.
