The Department of Health (DOH) said that three individuals currently quarantined at the New Clark City in Capas, Tarlac manifested symptoms of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19).

Health Assistant Secretary Maria Rosario Vergeire said that the three individuals, who were recently repatriated from the M/V Diamond Princess cruise ship, were brought to the Jose B. Lingad Hospital in Pampanga.

“Yung dalawang repatriates nakaramdam po sila ng sore throat. Yung isa naman po nakaramdam ng non-productive cough kaya po sila ay minabuti na dalhin na lang po doon sa ospital,” Vergeire said in a radio interview Thursday night.“Yun pong isa na meron po syang sore throat, apparently sinasabi meron na syang sore throat nung [February] 25 pa. Yung dalawa kagabi lang po nagpakita or na experience yung symptom nila,” the health official said.

The DOH recently said that there are 458 persons under quarantine at the Athletes’ Village in New Clark City. Of the said figure, 445 were repatriated from the M/V Diamond Princess cruise ship, while the 13 others were part of the Philippine repatriation team. The DOH said the repatriates were asymptomatic when they were flown back to the Philippines.

Health Secretary Francisco Duque III assured that they “have placed measures for the appropriate isolation and management of individuals who may eventually test positive for COVID-19 to contain transmission.”
