Gov. Gavin Newsom wants to pause physical education tests for California students for three years due to concerns over bullying and possible discrimination against disabled and nonbinary students.
H.D. Palmer, spokesman for the Department of Finance, said the state has received complaints that the current examination’s measurement of body mass index is discriminatory to nonbinary students. A measurement calculated from weight and height, the school BMI screenings require students to select “male” or “female,” he said.
School districts nationwide use such tests, and the results can inform still-growing children about potential health problems, experts say. But data from such tests and BMI measurements should not be used to diagnose health risks, according to the Society of Health and Physical Educators. Bodybuilder and former California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger had several school fitness initiatives during his time in office. He said through a spokesman that physical education classes should be the top priority.

I own a boxing gym in California and a lot of parents sign them up due to the bullying issue....It seems to stop after a couple of months in the gym...just saying....Its very sad that kids are bullied and it really falls on the parents and how they raise their children.
Because overweight and out of shape kids *never* get bullied. This is why DemocratsAreDestroyingAmerica.
