The Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) said on Wednesday the recently created Barangay Health Emergency Response Teams (BHERTs) are intensely monitoring resort and leisure parks where Chinese tourists abound in the wake of the global 2019 novel Coronavirus (nCoV) scare.

DILG Undersecretary for Barangay Affairs Martin Diño said that the concentration is on resorts where Chinese tourists stayed for their Chinese New Year vacation.Earlier, DILG Secretary Eduardo Año directed all local village chiefs in the country to form their respective BHERTs in the wake of the nCov scare.

So far Diño said the concerned parties have been cooperative specifically Chinese tourists who had themselves checked in the barangays. The tricycle driver even pointed where he transported the Chinese tourists where local health authorities eventually traced them.
