There’s a new pup in politics. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez recently introduced the world to her freshly acquired French bulldog via Instagram. He is called Deco, after the art deco movement, and he’s very cute. He has also proved very controversial. The congresswoman’s apparent decision to purchase a purebred puppy instead of adopting a rescue dog has set tongues wagging and prompted a condemnation from People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals .
Bleugh, do one will you please, have you nothing better to focus on? Its not exactly environmentally responsible to keep publishing a daily newspaper either.
It’s AOC right to deside what kind of dog she wants...basta!

I expect better from the Guardian.
For someone defending a green new deal, maybe not having a pet altogether might be the most logical thing to do. Indeed, pets’ carbon footprint is huge: What are we ready to sacrifice now to tackle the climate emergency before we loose everything?
Inbreeding like this is illegal in human society.
The crowd that runs these clubs that 'value' dogs for looks that are cruel really ought to be banned. I saw a show where a german shepard won for its shape though it could barely walk. This is insane.
FFS. More and more like a red top every day. What on earth is happening to The Guardian?
I'm mad that I've given you guys a click
Can yourselves share if purchased or adopted
Slow news day?
It's a fair point to make if you care about animal welfare. Rescues are overflowing with very good boys and girls. adoptdontshop
“I’m getting a dog because my congresswoman got a dog” - no one ever
Of COURSE it's written by Arwa Mahdawi. I should've known better.
Guardian, NO. Sit.
This is one of the worst things I've ever read from The Guardian. Maybe she just wanted a French Bulldog?
Oh shut up!
🤷🏾♀️
Holy desperate for hate clicks Batman
Yes, of all people in congress she's the one setting a terrible example. What a hot take, The Guardian.
Slow news day, huh?
The Guardian is setting a terrible example with their new report on a congresswoman's dog
