Sen. Risa Hontiveros has urged the Department of Health (DOH) and local government units (LGUs) to distribute face masks and other protective gear to residents directly affected by the eruption of Taal Volcano.

Hontiveros made the call following reports of hoarding and unfair price increases of face masks, particularly N95 masks.The senator said the provision of face masks and protective equipment should go to first responders and the vulnerable and sick.

“No expense is too high to ensure the safety and good health of our people, especially in this time of need.”
