Skin care begins with a series of de-puffing, sculpting, and lifting tools to prime her complexion for makeup. “I definitely started to take care of my skin when I booked the show,” she admits while swiping an icy massaging ball in upward motions. Next up? A dab of toner courtesy of Petsch’s facialist, Renée Rouleau, a few drops of vitamin C serum, and a hefty layer of moisturizer.
Makeup kicks off with a dash of khaki-colored eyeliner and a swipe of neutral shimmer on her lids. “I actually used to be a competitive dancer for a really long time, so I was doing my makeup at a very young age,” she says. “I’m not going to say I was good at it!” But over the years, practice has made perfect. Petsch curls and preps her lashes with an eyelash primer. “It’s kind of like when you prime your skin,” she explains of the base coat, letting it sit while applying CC cream and concealer.
Cheeks are amplified with a peach-hue cream blush and a dab of shimmering highlighter for a “healthy glow.” Lastly, Petsch applies her tried and true redhead-approved brow strategy, which includes two different-colored brow pencils and a smudge-free gel. “Cheryl’s taught me a lot about taking risks with color and fashion,” she explains. As for the 38th step? A dab of Glossier’s cult cherry Balm Dotcom for a hint of shine.
