KOTA KINABALU: The state Health Department is taking precautionary steps to check on China visitors from Wuhan where an outbreak of a mysterious lung related illness was reported recently.

Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Christina Liew said that the public here should not be unduly worried as the health authorities were keeping close tabs on the passengers arriving from Wuhan.

Liew said the health authorities are taking appropriate steps to screen all arrivals from Wuhan at the Kota Kinabalu International Airport ."The state Health Department has a health office at the KKIA and has been conducting thermal scanning for incoming international flights. "Health personnel stationed at the airport will carry out temperature screening of passengers arriving on flights from Wuhan," said Liew, who is also the state Tourism, Culture and Environment Ministeroperated by AirAsia daily and three times per week by Malindo Air.
