Personal trainer Alice Liveing shares her tips on how to survive the January fitness rush.

"I trained as a dancer and did musical theatre. On my first day I remember it so vividly feeling like 'oh god, I'm so different to everyone else'," she tells Newsbeat.

She says she developed a"terrible relationship with food" and would binge on fizzy drinks and chocolate after eating very little. She says she tells her clients that they shouldn't exercise to look like anyone else, but to improve their quality of life and wants them to train for the right reasons."I got the six pack - but at that point I was like I don't really have a life and I'm not very happy.

I'm starting with sorting my diet out. Exercise, just doing long walks at the moment. Being asthmatic need to take things slowly and get my lungs on track, so I've been told.

Why show a photo of someone who clearly does not need a fitness regime? Very annoying.

The time when you can’t get through the gym doors because it’s fall with people’s NY res that will probably quite in February.

Easy, wait until September and the start of the Academic Year as this is the “best” time of year for new challenges 💁🏼‍♀️

Eat twenty per cent less. Drink twenty percent less alcohol. Exercise twenty per cent more. Sleep twenty percent longer. Job done. Small steps.

How about Don’t wear full make up to a fitness session ( it looks silly and vain and will run off into your eyes) and tie your hair back cos it will fly in your face and you will trip up. You don’t need to look like a super model to work out Godsake!!!!! Wrong message guys!!

My new years resolution was to lose 3 stone.Only 6 stone to go now.

Plenty of diet water......
