The WHO's Senior Health Advisor on Ageing, Alanna Officer, says it means 'Ireland is committed to becoming a good place in which to grow old'

Representatives of the country's 31 local authorities were presented with charters by the WHO at a ceremony at Slane Castle, Co Meath.

It includes measures such as housing developments, libraries, airport guidelines, car parking and improved customer services and communication aimed at older people. This year also marks the tenth anniversary of the launch of Ireland's Age Friendly Programme, which was introduced in a response to changing demographics.

WHO On the very same day that HSE letters were sent to older people in receipt of home care packages informing them their hours are being cut including my 87year old Dad, Age Friendly Ireland.........

WHO Bravo Ireland! Love my Irish roots!!

Bollox !!!!! Absolute bollox, we’ve had a year of tragic pics of peoples grandparents on trolleys. leo must be doing some dodgy favours as we keep seeing bogus claims via the UN and WHO.
