After scrutinising separate surveys of 2,000 adults and 1,000 children aged 6-16, it emerged that youngsters outperformed their elders on most questions. The study revealed that 20 per cent of the younger generation knew there are 13 different vitamins, compared to a mere five per cent of adults.
They were also more clued up about how vitamins C and D boost the immune system, according to research by health food firm Plenish. In response to this knowledge deficit, Plenish has launched the 'Little Shot Shop' on London's Portobello Road, staffed by children. These young employees shared crucial vitamin and nutrition information with passers-by and tested adults on their vitamin knowledge.
